Lava Mountain Lodge is located inside the Shoshone National Forest, (the first national forest) and is only 35 scenic miles from Yellowstone via Grand Teton National Park.

Our location on US Hwy 26/287 provides easy year round access and is a designated Scenic By-Way.

Wildlife abounds in this area which offers world class fly fishing, hunting, snowmobile recreation, extreme skiing, hiking, snowshoeing cross country skiing, dog sledding, bird watching, and photographic adventures.

Snowmobiling

Enjoy a fun filled winter on Togwotee Pass at Lava Mountain Lodge. Offering world class snowmobiling and hunting outside your front door. 675 miles of trails & 600 miles groomed. Thousands of acres of powder riding, extreme snowmobile guide services as well as trail guides. Snowmobile clubs are welcome! Snowmobile supplies (oil, belts, plugs, etc.) Avalanche Beacons for rent or for sale.

 

Hiking/Skiing

Hiking the Continental Divide Trail next to Teton and Yellowstone National Park. World Class Fly Fishing (Lakes, Streams, and Rivers).Backcountry Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing accessible just up the road from the lodge. Extreme skiing on Lava Mountain containing unnamed chutes. Avalanche Beacons rented and sold here.
